Grassroots Alert for HB 2560
The following alert is being issued on behalf of the PA grassroots home education lobby.
ACTION NEEDED:
House Bill 2560, the Home Education Bill, will soon come before the House Education Committee for discussion and vote. However, there is discussion of amendment(s) at this time. It is absolutely essential that you contact the following legislators (especially Rep. Stairs and Rep. McIlhattan) with the message that you “want House Bill 2560 voted out of committee only with amendments supported by Rep. Rohrer.” We are asking that you call or visit their offices ASAP and then follow up with a brief note, postcard, or email to that effect.
All of the members of the House Education Committee listed below have either not yet expressed support for the bill or have expressed opposition to the bill. Therefore, it is essential that you contact as many of them as possible. If you are limited in the amount of contact that you can do, please at least contact Rep. Stairs and Rep. McIlhattan.
STATEWIDE DAY OF PRAYER:
We are asking that all home educators in the state and all friends of home education please fast and pray on October 7 for the special intention of the passage of this bill. Your calls, letters, faxes, etc., are essential at this time, but so is your prayer. This bill needs to be ready for the Governor’s signature by November 27. It will require Divine Intervention to accomplish that. Proverbs 21:1; 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
Please feel free to pass this along to any and all home educators and friends of home education. If you have not yet contacted your state Representative or state Senator requesting their support for this bill, now is the time to do that too.
