Mason-Dixon Homeschoolers Association Diploma Program, believing that parents are the best qualified persons to direct the education and training of their children, fully supports the enactment of HB 2560.

The US Constitution reserves the right to direct the education of children to their parents. The US Supreme Court, most specifically in Wisconson vs Yoder, but in every case considering the State's interest in the education of children, has recognized and acknowledged the primacy of parental control in education. HB 2560 is consistent with these Constitutional and judicial positions. HB 2560 recognizes the limited interest that the State government has in the education of future adult citizens while permitting parents the necessary latitude to direct the education of those future adults.
