House Education Committee
Meeting to Consider HB 2560
October 23, 2002
We have confirmed through Rep. Sam Rohrer's office, the prime sponsor of HB 2560, that the House Education Committee meeting scheduled for today was canceled because of concerns that there would not be a quorum present to vote on the bill. The meeting will most likely be rescheduled for November 13, but this date has not been confirmed yet. Both Rep. Stairs, Chairman of the HEC, and Rep. Rohrer are confident that the bill will be voted out of the HEC at that time.
Please continue to contact members of the HEC , as well as the Representatives who co-sponsored HB 2560, to let them know you expect a vote before the end of the session. If you have not yet contacted your Senator and the Senate Education Committee , this would be an effective way to use the intervening time while we wait for the vote.
