Rep. Sam Rohrer's Statement
Regarding HB 2560
October 25, 2002
Rep. Sam Rohrer, the prime sponsor of HB 2560, gave us the following statement on October 25 regarding the rescheduled vote by the House Education Committee:
"November 13 will be the date that the House Education Committee will vote on HB 2560, and I am confident that we will vote it out of committee with a majority support as well as the Chairman's support. Everyone's efforts in the grassroots lobby have been very effective in laying the groundwork to ensure members are aware of the issues, and we are moving full steam ahead toward the passage of this bill. The lobby group should continue to contact both their Representatives and Senators in advance of the vote. My thanks to all who are lobbying for passage of this bill."
Please continue to contact members of the HEC , as well as the Representatives who co-sponsored HB 2560, to let them know you expect a vote before the end of the session. If you have not yet contacted your Senator and the Senate Education Committee , this would be an effective way to use the intervening time while we wait for the vote.
