PA School Code Chapter 4 § 4.72 for credentials other than the high school diploma:
There are 4 ways for home educated students to receive PHEAA funding in PA. You are not required to use a diploma program if you do not wish to do so.
1. Graduate from a PDE approved diploma program OR
2. Take and pass the GED OR
3. Have your superintendent sign a PHEAA form stating that the home school program was in compliance and graduation requirements were met per home education law OR
4. A high school diploma will be issued upon presentation of evidence of full matriculation and the satisfactory completion of a minimum of 1 full year or 30 semester hours of study at an accredited institution of postsecondary education. Dual enrolled students could do this in their junior and senior years of high school, obtain a state issued diploma and therefore qualify for PHEAA funding.
