MCCH is comprised primarily of families located in Mifflin County, in the south central region of Pennsylvania. Most families are in the Lewistown / Reedsville / Belleville area with other towns represented from Allensville and McVeytown at the SW end to McClure in neighboring Snyder County at the NE end. We occasionally have families from other adjacent counties participate in events.

 

What does MCCH offer to members?

MCCH members receive a monthly newsletter from August through May which contains information about field trips and activities, Mom's support group meetings, family events such as International Night and Track & Field Day as well as other items of importance to homeschooling families.

Who leads MCCH?

MCCH is an organization led by parents who have volunteered their time to oversee the support, guidance and activities of the group. The leadership team consists of five to seven couples who are currently homeschooling in Pennsylvania and whose children range in age from early elementary to high school.

 

How do I find out more about becoming a MCCH member?

MCCH hosts an annual Back to Homeschool Night for both new and existing families in late August. New families find out more of what MCCH is about and existing families find out what activities are being planned for the upcoming year. How do I find out more about homeschooling in PA?

The MCCH support group has compiled a resource guide entitled "Home Education in PA" which is located in the reference section of the Mifflin County Public Library. This resource guide contains a copy of the state law along with documents and other important information to get you started and keep you going on your homeschooling journey!

The intended purpose of MCCH is to assist Christian homeschooling parents in the education of their children in keeping with Biblical principles and a personal saving faith in Jesus Christ, through support, guidance, and family activities.
