FOREVER GRATEFUL

You and I live today,
Because God allowed our birth.
Our needs in life are daily met
Through His provision here on Earth.

God created the dimension of time
and placed us within it to live;
But from the time He’s given to us,
Many times we fail to give.

Engulfed in our own little world,
We fail to seek His face;
So often abusing His mercy,
Without gratitude for His grace.

By His grace we receive salvation,
A gift we don’t deserve,
Then quickly forget the power
Of this God we claim to serve.

With one breath He could dry up the sea;
Blow away the desert sand;
He could wipe away the shining stars
With a waive of His mighty hand.

He could level the highest mountains,
Divide the face of the Earth;
And erase the history of every man,
Removing all signs of birth.

All this He could do in judgment,
With no sin charged to His name;
For It’s impossible for Him to sin,
Yet for us, sin He became.

For His grace we should ever be grateful,
Serving Him with all our heart;
Praising Him for the eternal inheritance
Which to us He did impart.

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive
the grace of God in vain -- for He says, "At the acceptable time I
listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you."
