Have you ever crossed paths with a person who seems to thrive at the expense of others? Sure, we are all self-centered to varying degrees, but the person I'm talking about takes and takes and then takes some more without any moral restraint or breech of conscience in doing so. I have personally known a couple of people like this; while around them I often felt that I was in the presence of...
VAMPIRES
"There is a kind-- oh how lofty are his eyes! And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
There is a kind of man whose teeth are like swords, And his jaw teeth like knives,
To devour the afflicted from the earth, And the needy from among men."
Proverbs 30:13-14"Vampires are only legend,"
At least some would say;
But it seems that there are "vampires"
Existing even today.Like the spawn of Satan,
Wandering souls, empty and lost;
They prey on the lives of others
Not caring what it may cost.Dwelling in shadows of vainglory,
loathing the charity of true light,
Their deeds are performed in selfishness
as the vampire’s is the night.In the midst of a social gathering,
Perhaps you’d think them nice;
But through deceptive charm
Trusting souls are enticed.Once invited into your life,
Privacy’s threshold they’ll not heed,
Stopping nothing short of blood
to satisfy their urge to feed.To fight them in their realm,
is the temptation they impart;
But to expose the darkness of their deeds
Is a stake into their heart.Should you enter into their lair,
You will certainly suffer loss;
The only way you'll surely conquer
Is to stand behind the Cross."But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart,
do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that
which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where
jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing."
James 3:14-16"But do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named
among you, as is proper among saints; do not participate in the unfruitful
deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them…for it is disgraceful even to
speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible
when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light."
