For You!

The Lord my blessed Savior,
Oh, how I love Him so!
“I love thee child enough,” He said
“Up to Calvary I will go.”

I’m sure the climb was steep and long,
and all the way was hard;
But Jesus said, “I’ll do this child,”
Although His body marred.

Never a man could love so much
As my Lord and Savior did.
No other man could pay the price
For my soul of sin to rid.

I’m sure the nails put in His hands
Burned as they went through;
But Jesus cried, “I do this child
To prove My love for you.”

The thorns around His brow, I’m sure,
Brought blood about His face;
“This,” He said “I do My child,
So your sin I can erase.”

As they parted His garments and cast lots for them,
I’m sure my Savior prayed,
“My God I surely do this
That Your children might be saved.”

I know what my Savior meant by,
“My child this is for you.”
I hope, my friend, you know by now
You are one of His children too.

“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd
lays down His life for the sheep.”
John 10:11(NASB)
