Death By Design
(A poem for those who will come to Christ)

I was born with a sin nature, So I’m prone to sin;
But the Bible says, "all have sinned," that includes you my friend.
"The wages of sin is death," So death we are due;
But Jesus died for me and Jesus died for you.

Even before time began, It was no mystery;
God knew that sin would play a part In human history;
Neither was it a secret, For God also knew;
Jesus would die for me and Jesus would die for you.

On the day of His death, He endured much disgrace;
They tore His flesh with a whip, spit upon Him, struck His face.
He could have said, "Enough! This I will not do!"
 But Jesus died for me and Jesus died for you.

They laid Him on the cross, after He’d been beat;
Pressed thorns into His head, drove nails through His Hands and feet.
They mocked His claim to be God, Though His claim was true;
Then Jesus died for me and Jesus died for you.

I have given my life to Jesus, His sacrifice paid for my sin;
In Him I have everlasting life, and so can you my friend.
We deserve eternal punishment, this the Bible teaches as true;
 But, Jesus died for me and Jesus died for you!

"I am the good shepherd; and I know My own,and My own know Me,
even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father;
and I lay down My life for the sheep."
John 10:14-16 (NASB)
