At first I had decided not to put this poem on the web since there are many women who have had abortions and are now very sensitive about this subject. But it's not to the women who have had abortions and feel wrong about their decision that this poem is aimed. Nor is the purpose of this poem to debate women's rights (my wife feels the same as I); The purpose of this poem is to speak for the rights of the unborn.At the time I am writing this my wife and I have a five month old baby girl. I wonder what she would say if I asked her how she would have felt about being aborted. Of course at this time she can't answer that question or any other. She can't defend herself in any way. If she were left to herself right now she would die. That is where her mother and father come in... it is our responsibility to speak for her, and protect her even if it costs us our life. The way we look at abortion is based on the answer to this question, "How does God feel about abortion?" Psalms 139:13-16 says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
If you are reading this and are one of the many women who have had an abortion, a doctor who sinned by performing an abortion, or a person who sinned by encouraging or pressuring a woman to take her child's life, I want you to know that true forgiveness can be found in Jesus Christ. That is what's so great about God's mercy and grace. When you truly seek His forgiveness and entrust your life to Him, all your sins are washed away by His shed blood. Those who do this will truly experience His Love and forgiveness. On the other hand, those who choose to continually reject what He has to say will one day receive His wrath. His word says..."It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God" Hebrews 10:31.
PARTIALLY BIRTHED
In a spiritually darkened room,
That God’s glory will never fill;
A man sworn to uphold life
Prepares to make a kill.
A baby travels the birth canal
A new phase in life to begin;
Unaware of the death that awaits
"Partially birthed" in a world
of sin.
His body so tiny and frail,
He hasn’t a chance to fight back;
An object pierces the back of his
neck
and his newborn world goes black.
The mother he had no chance to love,
Her heart with apathy filled;
Doesn’t offer protection for her
child,
But allows him to be killed.
We all would do well to remember,
and with confidence this I speak;
There’s coming a day the guilty
will kneel
and be judged at the Almighty’s
feet.
And there in His heavenly courtroom,
Justice will be served;
As the cries of the unborn children
In the presence of God are heard!
"Upon Thee I was cast from birth;
Thou hast
been my God from my mother's
womb."
