SPIRITUAL
 DEATH ROW

My life was on trial in the highest court
With no need for me to be sworn;
I was being tried by The Sovereign God,
Even though I was yet to be born.

In His foreknowledge I was convicted,
 and still hadn’t taken a breath;
Eternal death I received as my sentence,
"For the wages of sin is death."

His foreknowledge then became history;
I was born on spiritual death row;
A prisoner of an inherited sin nature
and of sins I was yet to know.

As time passed my sins came true;
 A desperate situation I was in.
I needed someone to die in my place,
But he had to be free of sin.

My desperation turned to depression,
I discovered the impossible odds;
The Bible says, "For all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God."

My only hope, a miracle of the triune God
 If my sins were to be erased;
An incredible gift of absolute love,
Unbelievable mercy and grace.

With joy, I found it had been fulfilled
God The Son had died for me,
and by calling upon His name in faith,
Then I could be set free!

In repentance I called upon Jesus
and know that my sentence was waived;
For "Whoever shall call on the name
Of the Lord shall be eternally saved."

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has
set you free from the law of sin and of death.”
Romans 8:2 (NASB)
