How Wonderful is my Shepherd, I
know that He loves me;
So I try to follow my Shepherd
everywhere He leads.
Sometimes we climb high mountains
and cross the rocky ground;
But always on the other side green
pastures can be found.
It seems quite often, I'm too weak
to finish out the day;
Its then the Shepherd picks me
up and carries me along the way.
And those times I'm caught in a
thicket, as I stray so stubbornly,
He lovingly hears my penitent cry
and comes to set me free.
Once I ran in the "Valley of Sin,"
wild without a care;
It was on one grim evening, I first
met the Shepherd there.
The "Serpent of Death" had found
me, was coiled, ready to strike;
The Shepherd stretched out His
merciful hands and took the fatal bite.
The bite sent Him to the grave;
but a mighty shepherd is He.
For He then arose from the grave
to live for eternity.
I can entrust my life to Him for
He's removed death's sting.
Oh! Jesus is a wonderful Shepherd,
Savior, Lord and King.
"My sheep hear My voice, and
I know them, and they follow Me;
and I give eternal life to them,
and they shall never perish;
and no one shall snatch them
out of My hand.
