THE WEB OF SIN
The darkness approached as I worked,
So I started in for the night,
When I noticed a spider had spun
a web,
In front of my back porch light.
With deceiving skill he made his
web,
So his prey would not know,
That certain death was awaiting,
Hidden behind the lamp’s glow.
Insects would fly toward the light,
Blinded by their very desire,
To be suddenly caught within the
web,
For their enemy to devour.
Satan weaves a web of worldly temptation
Deceitfully over Hell’s flame,
As people blinded by selfish desire
Are caught in it much the same.
Perhaps even now you realize,
You’re trapped in a “web of sin,”
and with passing time you only
find,
You’re entangled deeper within.
Just focus your heart upon Jesus;
He’s the only source of true light.
His power alone can set you free,
But to Him you must take flight!
"Again
therefore Jesus spoke to them,
Saying,
“I am the light of the world; he
who
follows me shall not walk in darkness,
but
shall have the light of life.”
John
8:12
