Dear all,

After 20 years of loving Rod, my moment in the sun FINALLY came, as I met Rod at Strawberries in Boston. He had a CD signing there on Thursday the 14th and was due there at 5:00 p.m. and only staying until 6:00I really, really wanted to see him, so I got there at 4:00 a.m. and was number 4 in line. Only the first 200 people were able to get in the store to meet Rod. It was a very long, cold (sub freezing) day, but certainly worth it. I met a lot of great people, some of whom flew in from other states just for this event.
Anyway, after 13 hours of waiting, there he was!!! Rod was terrific, he looked great, and was very friendly (just take a look of my photos with him). My feet still aren't touching the ground.

There are some memories.Click on images to see full size.

Hi all! (Sorry this is so late) Well breakfast with Rod wad fun but not as much fun as the radio station had origionaly made it sound. We were told that Rod would not be signing autographs or posing for personal pictures, that he was just doing an on-air interview (no questions from any of the fans), but that we could take as many pictures of our own as we wanted. They had the lounge set up with rows of about 50 seats. These rows were facing two chairs and a table. That was where Rod and the DJ were going to do the interview. (This definitely was not going to be interactive!!) I was lucky to get a seat in the front row.

Rod showed up around 7:05. He looked like he had just rolled out of bed! He was wearing the same outfit that he had on for the VH1 video break interview. He had on sunglasses which he never took off during the entire interview and needed a shave. (I don't think he was thrilled to be up that early, but he still was looking good to me.) Also his hair was wicked short! They talked about that during the interview. Apparently he had it cut 2 days earlier (he said in Chicago, taping Oprah I assume). He described it as a George Clooney style. I hope it grows out soon, I didn't like it at all! During the next hour they talked about Rod's new album. He said that the album was his label's idea, not his! Rod said that he was going to take a year off and record a new album with some of his own songs and then tour in '98. They talked about Rod's hits over the years, touring, Ron Wood and the Stones, Rod's kids, and Rachel. Rod said how grateful he felt to be in the business and how spoiled he becomes when he's on the road but how when he gets home to Rachel and the kids he does all the normal things that we all do (right!). He told a cute story about driving Sean to school (in his Ferrari, no less). Sean wanted Rod to drop him off a few blocks before they got to school. Rod was having no part of that and left Sean off right in front of school. After Sean got out of the car Rod put down the windows and yelled out so all the kids could hear "Hello everybody, I'm Sean's father!" much to Sean's embarrassment and Rod's delight. Then Rod posed for pictures with some of the members of the Revolution (Boston soccer) and then it was all over! It had gone by soooooo quickly! Rod had left the building. :o( Now all that is left is the memories.........but they are wonderful memories and they're all mine!!!!!!!!!!

Regards, Joanne
